HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT PARTICIPATING IN THE BANPRESTO WORLD FIGURE COLOSSEUM?

ZW: I’m very honored to be invited to the world Colosseum so many times. I also like thank Fan Fan Mange for the cooperation.
I’ve know about the Sculpting King for years and I’ve dreamt of participating in the tournament many times. I’m very fortunate to get the opportunity to fulfill my dream. I hope my lucky streak continues through the tournament.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AS A CREATOR:

ZW: I read an article in a magazine introducing how to make simple models and tried it when I was 17. It was my first try so it didn’t turn out that great but it seeded my interest for “Figure Creation”. I came across stone powder clay in 2013 and decided to give figure creation another shot and this time I was successful. This challenge I gave myself bloomed my interest toward figure creation and gave me the courage to go down the path of a professional modeler.

PLEASE EXPLAIN A PRODUCT, WORK, ETC. IN WHICH YOU WERE INVOLVED THAT HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN YOUR HEART.

ZW: I’d like to say my next project but currently it is Mossel Kar98k from Girls’ Frontline.

WHAT DO YOU VALUE AS A CREATOR? WHAT ARE YOUR OWN RULES FOR CREATING?

ZW: Work based off of a well crafted schedule. This is the basis for everything. When crafting, I continue to make adjustments until I am completely satisfied to create with perfect quality.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER IN ANIME, COMICS, ETC.?

ZW: Nami from One Piece
Yamcha, Piccolo, Gohan from Dragonball
Naida, Electora from Nadia:The Secret of Blue Water
Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion
Tekkaman Blade from Tekkaman Blade
GUYVER I from Guyver
Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell

WHAT IS YOUR IMPRESSION OF JAPANESE FIGURES OR CREATORS?

ZW: Japanese figures use a variety of parts and delicate techniques along with a very creative imagination to create works that have outstanding express-ability and realism.
The Japanese creators all have their own unique characteristics such as Ryu Oyama, a dynamic creator, and Satoshi Today, a very delicate type who focuses on recreation.
Both types are passionate about their work and a hunger to committing to their goals which fascinates me.

HOW IS YOUR ENTHUSIASM FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE BFC? TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS TOWARDS SCULPTING?

ZW: I want to evolve through this tournament. I’m going to participate with my 100% passion and 100% commitment. I’m hoping for a successful tournament.
