Jem Gonzales hails from the Philippines and is making his sculpting debut at this year’s BWFC. He is hoping to make a splash with his choice of character – the relatively new Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rose form).
At first, I can't believe when I got an invitation to be one of the participant in Banpresto World Figure Colosseum. Of course, it's a honor and a privilege to be part of it. I am very happy and feel very lucky at the same time to be the first artist representing my country Philippines.
I am inspired by an Anime (Dragon Ball z, etc...) back then when I was a kid, I love to draw lots of art forms it was my passion, and when I got old I am fond of statues and figurines, which leads me to become a sculptor.
As I say, I am inspired by an Anime which is Dragon Ball Z when I was a kid, I feel great and so excited to make one.
Because Goku Black is not a common character to make. There's something very unique about his character and his story caught my attention which really inspires me to choose Goku Black, and I think it's very fun and cool to sculpt.
It was one of the fighting scenes that has a very tremendous pose of Goku Black.
There's a passion in every art/sculpt I made. And it's really represents my own self on it.
At first, I think Trunks suits me well haha. Very cool , but yeah as time goes by I realized that I wanted to be like Gohan because he loves to be a dad for being responsible for his family and at the same time must reawaken his true self.
I know some artist/contestants are very famous and for that reason I am very happy and honored to be as one of their competitors in this competition.
Just don’t get tired of making art, your art will always unlock something new.
