How do you feel about participating in the BANPRESTO WORLD FIGURE COLOSSEUM 2018?

First of all, I am looking forward to communicating with participants from other countries. Also, I am curious about how would the other participants will like my sculpting. I am excited to explore new and fun ideas through my sculpting procedure. I am already excited about what my Captain Usopp will look like when it's finished. I will try my best as much as I can so that this work can be special to me!

Of all the art forms, why did you pick sculpting or become a sculptor?

I like making things and I made 50 figures for my graduation project. The work's theme was the expression of the youth culture and it was used for movies and TV dramas later on. I have come to know the joy of expression, the enjoyment of sculpting, and also the difficulties. Those feelings made me become a sculptor today.

How do you feel about the franchise for which you selected?

I really love One Piece and I enjoy reading it all the time. It was what got me work as a sculptor with Banpresto and it made my techniques of molding and expression improve. Mr. Oda's work and vision give me a fertile imagination. I am very excited and enjoy sculpting every character I make.

Tell us the reason why you chose the character you did. (And why did you pose it that way?).

The reason why I really love Captain Usopp is because of his integrity and because I could feel his deep love. I have always wanted to sculpt this character, but I didn’t have any chance to do so before this. That's why I chose this character for BWFC. The battle scenes are one of the most interesting things about One Piece so there are tons of character figures that show intensity and those are really cool. But I think the scenes that are warm and project a comfortable mood are also an important part. I like the way he fights - he never gives up, but I like his tender heart more. So this time, the pose I would like to sculpt is just like his personality.

What makes your style of sculpting unique?

I try to make the texture of clothing and the feeling of skin realistic like the picture of young people of the village in the Age of Captain Usopp. I hope you like the gap between the character images and the texture. The deformation of hands and the other body parts is just the same but the texture I will make it so real.

If you were a Dragon Ball or One Piece character who would you be? And why?

Kung-Fu Dugongs. Just like him, I can devote myself to the one thing that I have to do.

How do you feel about the other contestants?

Everyone is great. There all have their own various ways of showing expression and it’s amazing.

Is there anything you like to say to your fans?

I think BWFC is more attractive for hardcore fans of One Piece because the figures are more unique than the normal ones. It is not just cool, but also unusual. I also would like to create something new and something like I’ve wanted to get myself. It should be different from my current work so my sculpting is going to be more unique. Therefore, if there’s someone who liked my sculpting, I would be especially happy because BWFC is really special. Anyways, I will do my best. Thank you for your support!
